    Help with Plate Ali purchase

    Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a boat next year around August.
I was looking at the Quintrex 510 Coastrunner but after reading some of the other posts about pressed boats i have decided a plate ali would be better for me.
Just chasing info/feedback/experience on the following boats:

    Trailcraft 510 or 540 Freestyle
    http://www.trailcraft.com.au/boats/g...l=540freestyle

Tabs (Seascape) 502 or 532 Sunrunner
    These guys:
    http://www.tabsboats.com.au/range-master-series.php
    Now make these:
    http://www.seascapeboats.com.au/

To give an idea of price the Quintrex was $27,500 with Merc 75hp 2stroke
The 502 Sunrunner with same motor is $22,000 and it is plate; go figure

    Kind Regards,
    Brad

    Hi Brad,
Might have to cough up a bit more info on what you intend on using the boat for and where.
As to Quintrex being more expensive, have you had a look at a coastrunner. They look more like a motor vehicle inside.Nice trim and linings.I think they are aiming at a more family recreation market than a plate fishing boat and thus you pay extra for the extras.

    Cheers Scott

mate, i did a search on the seascape boats. they are 3mm bottoms and 3mm sides. i can' find any for $22,000, where did you get that quote from.

    my quote was for 30,000

strange????. If your waiting a year. boat prices will probably go up by anothe 15% due to increase in world ore prices.

The Coastrunner i was quoting was the CV model which doesn't have all the trimming crap and is $27500

I intend to use it for fishing inshore & offshore (not too far though) /skiing/cruising, salt/fresh bit of everything really.

The seascape quote was from Coorparoo Marine. They are coming out as 4mm bottom and 3mm sides at the moment as that is what the TABS were made from (they must have excess material). They will be changing to the 3mm bottom as advertised though; although the 532 will still have 4mm bottom.

    Cheers,
    Brad
