just curious as to difference in fuel consumption between a direct fuel injection eg optimax vurses a four stroke. can you guy please post what you think possible fuel consumption figures thanks
geees there must be a million threads on this one, they all SEEM to be about the same in similar HP, but some may seem to use less at full throttle, and some less at troll speed ,regardless of what anyone tells you, some may be a bit better, some cost more to serice/maintain, some only need (stated) service after 3 years, just pick what you can get good after sales service on, and a dealer is near you, and you like the look of it, they are all good, regardless of 2 or 4 stroke, yammaha or Evinrude, what ever!
SORRY GUYS didnt mean for this to be about bloody etec's curious as to evinrude dfi, optimax, tldi ect. i agree there is more then enough threads about etecs on here. i currently own a two stroke just thinking about how much better on fuel a dfi would be have seen a eninrude dfi 115 for about 2k more than a standard carby 2 stroke, weighing up options to see which would be more financially viable
did not mean it to be about etecs, I do not own one either, but HP is HP and they ALL use about the same in any given HP, it is just a fact of life, you need X amount of fuel to make X amount of HP, I know it is a bit more complicated than that, but, it is what it all boils down to, an EFI 4 stroke MAY use a tad less than a DFI 2 srtoke, but not under all conditions, the even out over their operating life and range of conditions.
