The 2 exhaust ports is only cooling water that is around the exhaust where it goes down through the leg

The water comes from the pump, the difference being if the pump is not assembled correctly then the volume of water may not be enough to supply the whole motor. If the air bleed hole in the housing is blocked the pump may not pump correctly. If the drive key is not installed correctly then it may be slipping in the impellar. Lots of if's and butts

but was there water coming out the tell tale when you were running it on the muffs or in the tub of water, have you had water come out the tell tale at all.
cheers

Is the photo old 1 looking at the bottom face of the impellar? If so then that is correct if the new one is the same way.

I see conflicting opinions on this in this thread earlier on - where some stated that if the water came out of the exhaust ports, then this is a good sign pump is working properly and supplying the whoel motor.
Nevertheless, time for another pull (pardon the pun!). Leg coming off tonight for inspection...
Will report back on findings..
When I have the leg out, what should I see when I remove the water pump housing?
SHould I see the impellor rotating as I rotate the drive shaft?
If impellor is not rotating, then that's the problem - is that correct?

Where is the air bleed hole in the water pump housing?

Rat - Rather than rotating the drive shaft, I rotated the housing - any diff?Originally Posted by station-rat
