Re: Somerset 03/03/2002
Bass in the pics were 43 & 46 cm fork length (from memory)
We probably got 8 or 10 without too much effort & dropped several others. Did a run up the dam for a look around. Ran into Phil there who was doing a bit of skiing.
Was raining a bit & blowy at times.
We did a bit of a product test on the Strikezone Lures. The Critter (Large) was the pic of the lures, even out scoring my old Somerset favourite, Blitz Bagas. Very impressive indeed! 8)
Suss em out at http://www.ausfish.com.au/strikezone/critter.htm

Just found a roll of film I hadn't had developed & there was a few shots of our Fearless Leader Steve on it from this trip.
Thought I'd shove it one here.

Fitzy,
Nice Fish.
I'm a bit of Somerset novice (mainly fish wivenhoe). Too many waterskiers (that is more than none!).
If I was to give a go where roughly should I head. Rough GPS coords would be ultra helpful.
Cheers

Hi George,
Run the sounder along the break lines & out on the ajoining flats any where from the Spit right up into the trees past the powerlines.
Some good areas to start at this time of year are out from Queen Street, & Bay 13.
There's a map with these spots marked at http://www.ausfish.com.au/fitzy/Somerset.htm
Cheers,
Fitzy..
