This fish was caught 2 hrs drive from my house. Caught on the Mississippi River on a home-made deer tail jig.
I wonder if it put up a little bit of a fight ??????????

how heavy was it? Is it a common fish? do they actually fight well? interesting to see what others around the world catch.

i don't know how much it weighed but it was 7 feet 8 inches (2.44 meters). Alligator gars are very common where i live, but not THAT big (or we would never go swimming). Yes it is mighty ugly and yes they do fight. Glad you liked it, Dan.
