the two things i was glad i toted all around europe for the last 3.5 years was my fishing rods and a camera
anything else wasn't required
(clean clothes, washing stuff etc etc
I was very impressed with the freshwater fishing Europe had to offer (I carried two rods back packing around the world in 97) - particularly enjoyed Spain, Northern France, Holland, Denmark, Norway and Finland - did you get up to Scandinavia? Norway has greater public access to waterways than we do in Australia.
Still Central America took the prize for exotic sweetwater in my travels - though tropical Australia and PNG still blitz even there!!
