    Re: Albino Barra

Thanks for all the new photo's guys! Amazing fish!!!

Swano, is that you in the photo? or is that a pic you found on the net?
If thats your pic, you must of been blown away by the colour of that thing! haha

If anyone has a pic of a weirdly coloured(Albino, colour morph etc) fish of ANY species can you please post it up, it would be great to see what wierd and wonderful variations are out there!

    Cheers

Sure is amazing what survives out there. Once saw a pure white Mullet about 50cm swimming in a large school below a bridge in Mackay, it sure must have led a charmed life......at least till then anyway

The Fella holding the Orange Sooty is "Big George"
From memory one of couple that have been seen in Faust, Sooties that is

Yeh i've seen quite a few white Mullet once in a school up the tweed near murwillumbah (i think that's close enough to the spelling) There were about 3 or 4 white ones... about 10 or so 1/2 white and 1/2 normal coloured. They were in a huge school of at least a hundred... probably cloer to 2 hundred.

I have seen an albino lungfish in Nth Pine Dam many years ago.

Here are some interesting jardini and a leucistic (normal coloured eyes) leicharti.

Love the pics of the white barras. I've seen some dark ones that live in the shallows but never a white one.

    cheers

neil-c is correct thats george loudon holding the fish i took the piccy and then we released the fish to hopefully shock others the way it shocked us , it was surprising to see it in such good nick as it must be pretty hard to stalk prey when you look like a flare.
    cheers swano
