    Fourth time lucky

Took a run up to spot X, third tree on the left after turn nine just past the two pelicans resting on the black stump.
Iv donated several lures to the locals at this location and today seemed no different as the first fish hooked made a b-line for the timber. Lure pulled so the bank balance remained at $2.55 after spending all my spare cash buying more lures to feed the buggas.
Two casts later and I was in trouble of needing a bank loan to continue my obsesion of trying to get one of theses things back to the boat.
This time however I had a deckie who knew how to drive the electric so with a little colorfull encouragement from me at the pointy end of the boat we gave chase.
Got to love that braid. Done some serious scrub pullin and I was sure this was not going to end in my favoure as every time I gaind a meter of line the fish would take six more further into the sticks.
Well every thing stayed intact this time round and we got the little girl in for a quick pic. She was 1150 give or take a mill.
Now people ask why I dont smile when I get my pic with a nice fish.
This pic should answer that question. No more smilin for me.
An hour later I landed another of aprox 900. We didnt actually measure her as I was informed by the deckie she was way to small to worry about. I think he's still made about the Faust mtr barra I caught at the boat ramp.
And if your wondering where I caught these lovely fish, it;s the same place you catch yours. In the mouth. . Eungella.

Good one staggy [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Don't hear much about Eungella Barra.... Bit of a change from those big brown footballs that the place is famous for.

    Cheers Les

    Re: Fourth time lucky

    G-day vertico,
I was using a Shimano callcuta 200 over a 6 to 8kg Strudy Sickstick with 50lb Tuf line braid and 60lb black Magic leader. I have upgraded the Shimanos drag with a Jack Erskin kit. Worth every bit of th $20. Smooooth as silk.
I only use 50lb braid as a way of trying to stop the fish rubbing me of in the timber.
