    Awoonga on the 8th

Took the kayak out on Wednesday morning on Awoonga. Weather quite cooler after overnight rain. Couple of heavy showers while on the water to keep conditions very pleasant. Must have turned the catties on as I managed 9. The biggest went 60cm and pulled like a horse. The head shakes and staying deep had me thinking cattie, although the powerful and multiple runs had me hoping for a barra. Was out in the tinnie the previous morning and caught a beautiful baby barra, 51cm, on a gold bomber. Probably only been out 18 months or so... its good to see the babies are still coming through and points to a healthy fishery for years to come. Well done to the hatchery boys. :exclamation [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Couple of photos attached.
