    Bass at Coomera

Went to coomera looking for some bass. Tried a few different lures and plastics without much success, thought i would try a Jackall (bit worried about the snags and the price of the Jackall but still had to try), 3rd cast im on, nice bass, plenty more touches after that but no hook ups which i didnt mind cause i could throw a line alday with nothing but still feel i have had a good day, catching a fish is a bounus.
    cheers.
If i could get paid the same to fish, sorry boss but i ......!

Nice Geoff. It is a great area, but I hope you put most of your bass catch back in the Coomera. The weir prevents natural breeding in most years, so it is a dwindling stock.

I live just a couple of minutes from the river, so fish there a bit, but have only ever kept one bass from the Coomera. Unfortunately others don't share the view so the stock will continue to decline until we get some good rain to keep the river flowing through a winter and spring.

sure did norm, havent kept one,all released straight after a photo, throw atleast 98% of my fish back. i agree with you about the decline in numbers, 2 is the bag limit i think for bass but catch and release is more fun.

Good one Geoff. I often use my Canoe in the Coomera, including further upstream. It is a lovely spot with great bird life, hundred of water dragons etc to keep you entertained between casts.

Looking to sell the canoe though to focus more on the tinnie, so I won't get up there as much in the future.
