    Walkin the banks 4 bass

Yesterday I decided to put some time in and find a few new bass spots. I decided to bring a mate along and he knew a few farm owners so that we could have access to the creek we wanted to fish. He told me that he had lived in the area for most of his life and never seen a bass or even heard of one being caught.

We walked for 10min until we reached a likely hole and I fired first cast into a dark corner that had overhanging vines. A bass came out instantly and smacked at my lure twice but didn't feel the hooks. My mate threw his jitterbug into a tree and I took the chance at having the first five casts. The bass came back on the fourth and this time sucked the lure down. I landed him took a few picks and quickly released him due to the rotting yabbie remains he half regurgitated and were stuck in his throat. It smelled foul.

We flicked for another half hour and my mate left to go see his girl. I caught a few more bass and one was so tiny but also very angry. I decided to head home but try at a bridge that was on the way back. I stopped the car and tied on a popper. I threw it into the current under the bridge and got hit before I could even wind in the slack. I pulled out two nice bass in 5 casts then nothing so I went home.

    Pete.
