had the chance to go up to this beautiful dam on saturday, left brissy at 2.30am to arrive just as the light was good enough to see my way down the dam.settled on a little cove on the left just before the yabba arm.poppers to start with second cast got a hit from a medium bass no hook up but it looked promising, the next hour very quiet went into a small corner saw good boil from big toga, electriced over then two more boils, cast a green spinnerbait into the vecinity all hell broke loose there must have been at least 8 to 10 big toga in one area, the spinnerbait must have spooked them as they turned the water into a washing machine flying of in all directions ,one was tail walking past my boat, this meeting together must be some sort of mating thing they do.worked my way around the bank picked up two mid size bass, then witnesed two more toga chasing each other around, the big toga at leat 1mtr long, the small one doing its best to get away.headed up the yabba arm read on a recent post that the fishing got quiet around 9.00am but decided to stick with it , found a small school of bass in 14ft of water thru lures and fly at them no good ,dropped an ice jig down resulting in 6 bass in 10minutes.found some lilly pads with a few logs mixed in was rewarded with two toga in six casts one went 750mm and 600mm both on the bony bream spinnerbaits. saw wild deer, big goannas ,one feeding on a dead deer in the water, water python and heaps of toga free swimming all in all a great day on the water, will try and post some pics if i can work out how.cheers AL
