    Upper Brisbane River Bass

Headed up the Brisbane river near Mt Crosby on sunday to have a crack for a few bass. First cast using a trembler... slammed.. not massive but hey it was a start. 5 mins later slammed again. This was alot better than i was expecting to do. Again not massive but 2 bass in the first 5 minutes. I was stoked. Another 20 minutes later missed a good hit, and then cast out to some good looking structure. Got slammed on the drop and this fish felt decent. Started off a bit deep and sluggish and i was praying it wasnt a catty but after a ffew screaming run and jsut managing to keep it out of the snags ended up with my pb bass of about 1.5lb. I was stoked. Couldnt belive i could get a fish like this landbased up in that area. My mate then collected another two small bass before he was busted off by a thumper on a Popper. Was an awesome sesh and cant wait to get up there again.
    Cheers

Sorry about the background, but for those who do fish that area its a rpetty obvious piece of bank behind me and some obvious structure in the water. So i wana keep the spot slightly secret.

I'm mostly wondering where you were to be catching these landbased around Mt Crosby??? The Mt Crosby weir downstream to Colleges was choked with weed last week when I went for a paddle and there is no access from Mt Crosby weir upstream to Kholo and if you were downstream of Colleges Crossing, then thats not really near Mt Crosby at all.

Sorry, I'm not trying to pump you for information about the spot, it's just that I live really close to this part of the river and only just started trying to fish it for something other than bull sharks (they still freak me out when I'm paddling through colleges, and I don't know how half of Ipswich don't have love bites during summer) and I'm just wondering whether I'm ever in the right section of the river.
