Couple of photo's and tweed report

Hit the tweed yesterday for a full days fishing in the canoe. Total of 17 bass from 36 strikes (counted this time) and many more fish spooked or followed the lures without striking. The water level has dropped significantly since we first started fishing this spot probably over a month ago and the dynamic of the waterway has changed significantly now. The fish are no longer in as healthy condition and are schooled up in groups of up to 6 fish around the start and end of pools, rocks and weed beds often in very shallow water. This made for some excellent sight casting but we seemed to spook to many fish (saw well over 100 bass).

Here is a photo of my biggest bass to date both wild and impoundment. It went 51cm full length and was the skinniest bass i have ever seen you can also see that it is missing one of its pectoral fins.

    Good stuff Jeremy,
Dig the Platypus shot .Ya Bass does look lean.It almost appears concaved through the belly. How did it go on the string?I'm thinking it would have been fit and full of fight.

It's belly looks concave because it was. the fight was intense for about 10 seconds when it took a huge first run and then seemed to give in. It wasn't until i lifted it into the canoe that i realised just how big it was. When we fished there last time all the fish where fat and healthy but all the fish where now very lean which is strange due to the abundance of small mullet and other bait fish.

Yes yabba creek is up north. see one of my older reports for the details. I probably should have put that picture on it instead.
