Re: moogerah low water
Been thinking bout taking my kids out to see if they can catch their 1st bass.
Any tips on objects to avoid underwater. that is are there any areas I shouldn't go with the outboard ?

Hi BDM56
Go straight out from the ramp and you are about half way on the dam. Then so long as you stay on the dam wall side you will have no problems(It's up to 30 feet deep)
The other end of the dam is a bit shallow but more likely you will catch your lures on the bottom than hit anything.
Try cast and retrieve rather than trolling and you will have no problems at all, but its a bit harder for the kids.

Re: moogerah low water
Thanks for the advise If this wind drops and rain holds off I might try it out Sat arvo or Sun morning.
How does it fish in the wind ?

Re: moogerah low water
Excellent,
Was up there again on Thursday and caught plenty. Saw 2 old blokes that live at the dam fishing and they didn't put many fish back. They had a massive bag of fish in the water that was full of Bass and Yellas. Was very sad to see so many fish gone. I think Fisheries need to head up that way on a few weekends and week days as I have also recently seen another boat containing about 8 asian people taking large numbers of bass from this lake. I am sending a request to Fisheries to make some patrols so lets hope that happens.

Re: moogerah low water
Went again today(Sat). Wind was blowing gale force. Almost not able to fish. Only two boats out there including mine.
Caught 5 fish - Kept 2 bass and one yellow.
Real drama getting the boat back on to the trailer in the wind.

Re: moogerah low water
wardy
It also angers me to see my hard earned stocking dollars go to cowboys like that, I almost guarantee these guys don't have a SIP. Did anyone say anything to these guys? I have also recently seen 2 pelicans with braid wrapped around their bills, 1 couldn't fly it was that tangled, phoned wildlife rescue to help out, Braid does not break down, the fising fraternity needs to be resposibile for this type of thing, the actions of a careless few give us all a bad name,
Cheers
