Re: moogerah low water
Went out there on Saturday afternoon with the family. Ended up trolling aimlessly around the dam and scored 25 fish for the afternoon. My 5yo daughter caught 11 of them, including a 46cm bass. She also got a good size golden.
But the fish of the day goes to my wife (Jaime) who scored a 52cm bass.
The highlight for me though would of been being involved ina double hookup with my daughter...we even stopped half way through the battle for a quick high 5

Bdowdy,
Moogerah is fishing fairly well at the moment, most of 2kg bass are on the flats near the old creek bed, there are some energetic smaller bass on the edges at the moment,
Hope this helps,

Re: moogerah low water
Could have been us in the hornet, ended up with only 6 bass and one yella. Only got 1 bass casting the rest on the troll. My mates biggest bass was a 47 and my yella was 46 all released.
The water is very low and once the skiers start it quickly feels pretty cramped. Will definitely be going back and will probably camp the night.
Will attempt to attach pics.
Cheers

I often troll to locate the active fish then cast at them, its a great way to cover a lot of ground and indicate what the fish prefer on the day, yeah bowdy feel free always up there I do the QFM report for Moogerah and Maroon so have to keep my finger on the pulse,
Cheers Guys

If I take my 14 foot tinny - will I be able to get it in and out again by myself? I suppose the ramp is high and dry.
Skiers - your joking!

Some nice fish there Leigh, I notice a few sores on the tails there, a lot like the ones I've seen on the yellas up in wivenhoe

Re: moogerah low water
Went yesterday(Sat) and fished from about 10 am until the storm hit at 3.0 pm. Really good day's fishing; caught about 20 bass and 4 yellowbelly while trolling and casting. Took a while to find a hot spot but then it was fish after fish.
Most of the catch was up to 35 cms (including all the yellowbelly) but four fish were over 42 cms and the biggest 48 cms. Very good condition.
Used 2 kilo braid and Downunder lures(They wouldn't touch any other lures including my Jackalls.
Still smiling

Same for me. I was also there yesterday from 10 to the storm just after 3. Got hammered with hail on the way out and had to stop under a tree to try and protect the ute a bit. Had a great day on the water landing at least 10 solid fish plus some rats. Highlight was my 3 year old son catching his first fish (bass) all on his own and then telling me to hold the rod while he netted it!! Great stuff. Moogerah has really come on with the warming water. Mine were all on the River2Sea twin vibe - probably because I didn't bother trying anything else. The Killalure Pack Rat produced for me last Sunday. Might try fly next time I head up.
