Re: Another Awoonga Report
Thanks for taking the time to reply Ben we appreciate it.
We made the mistake of not using the radio and we put some mates on to an awesome bite of 20 fish landed and about the same lost on the last night we were there but they couldn't contact us.
Damn as this would have made the trip of a lifetime - we could hardly sleep knowing this on the last night before we had to pack up and go home. We also used the plastics casting at the weedbeds and dropped one at the boat and had a couple of touches down iveragh creek way - we went there on the last day to get away from all the boats.
The guys who got 20 said they could cast anything - they were in the right spot at the right time - plastics were hit on the drop - they had hours of fun after only one fish for the previous 5 days so they thanked us for telling them to get up the back ha where we saw fish on the sounder.
We didn't go there because we thought the second day of abt would be on and there would be a hundred boats up there LOL but there were only 4 boats up the top arm damn.
Lesson learnt - next time we will work in teams as its such a big dam and have the radios going for sure as it would have been a nice reward for a hard few days fishing. Lucky we got the 107cm in the boat second day ha.
Well done again and thanks for sharing your methods as we enjoy learning what works for others and what didn't work. It gives all of us more artillery for future trips.

Re: Another Awoonga Report
Some nice fish there boys Im on my way up to Awonga on the weekend hoping it wont be to busy as hear that the crowds are getting bigger this will be my third year with same boys we hope to do Ok but due to the large crowds we had to put our trip back a month. Is the boat ramp much of a hassle or are the fishos gettin in and out without to many argumants.

Re: Another Awoonga Report
I dont know what i did right but the longest i waited was about 8 minutes maximum, and also got a regulation park EVERY time. We launched the boat every morning at 4.OO am and retreived it at about 11.OOam then relaunched it at 3.30pm and retreived it at about 11.OO pm. All standard times in my book. It was my first time there so i can not comment on other experiences but i definately was scratching my head wondering if people had a screw loose.
Cheers
Ben
