some nice looking fish there mate. What are they like on a plate? great? fair? or rubbish?

They're not the best eating freshwater fish we have over here. I would give them about a 5 out of 10 on taste. Very light almost tasteless. The striped bass has a very dark lateral line/blood line that will ruin it if left in. It also has a ton of bones in it. I would say the best tasting are either walleyes or crappies, both are very good, they get a 9 out of 10. The often misunderstood catfish is also one of the best getting an 8 out of 10 if its done right.
