good session on upper brissy river

my mate and I headed up the brissy river from kholo today about 3pm.
We had the first fish in 20 min, which was orsm seeing the fish fight it's way around the snags that are every where. I had a few missed fish as they hit the popper but didn't hit the hooks.
All in all it was a great day on the water and my mate is not a virgin at catching river bass any more. 5 in total we tagged 4 and the 5th was a recapture.

    Jackash,

According to Fitzy's website, your able to fish 200 m above Mt Crosby weir but I believe access is limited due to private property.

According to the DPI website, http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/cps/rde/xc...2_ENA_HTML.htm,

    Probhibited fishing areas
Brisbane River: Old Mount Crosby Weir to 50 m downstream of the weir; 200 m upstream to 400 m downstream of Mount Crosby Weir; and Wivenhoe Dam to 600 m downstream of the dam wall.

The waters between Mt Crosby weir and the Kholo bridge are closed to everyone. Although fisheries have a 200m closure upstream of the weir for fishing, the next 8km or so of water up to Kholo Bridge is closed by the Brisbane City Council (or whoever the operating authority is) to protect the quality of water heading into the treatment plant.
