Monduran

Just back from two and a half days fishing at Monduran, with my barra curse continueing with low water temps, the odd rain shower, falling water levels and windy conditions greeting my arrival at the camp ground. One day I will nail a trip when the weather gods smile, please.
Spent the whole trip casting into fishy looking structucture, especially of the horizontal type. No fish on Wednesday arvo, but that was more of a reccy trip to suss things out, spent Thursday right up the back of the Kolan looking for some warmer water. Best I found was 26 degrees, but there were some fish up there with 5 boated and 2 massive loses, one straightened the 6x trebles and the other just bull dozed back into the snag on locked up 50, nothing you could do with that fish.
Went back up there on Friday and couldnt turn a scale, with one half hearted bump and a big swirl being the only action I saw all morning.
A change of tactics in the afternoon took me back down to the B arm, casting into the standing timber for a nice fish, then another off a fallen tree in 10 foot of water just before a thundery rain shower.
I finshed up by being smoked by a good fish which I got out of the timber, he did a half jump and and then headed for home, I pulled him up short, he came up for another half jump and spat the classic back into my lap. Buger.
All in all a good trip, my best barra fishing so far with a new PB of 800 and the most barra hooked so far.
All fish were c & r and swam off very healthy. Attatched a few pics, (some are of the dam and ramp etc for any one thinking of heading up that way for the first time) some not the best but its hard to take a good photo of yourself holding a fish when you are fishing alone, also I didnt want to have the fish out of the water any longer than necessary
