Quick Question - Whyte Island Ramp?

    Hello All

Just a quickie, is whyte island ramp suitable for medium fibreglass boats on all tides? A quick squiz at the map shows some mudflats which may pose a problem ??? ???

Looks like we will be joining the good friday crush at the ramps!
    cheers

Hi, The ramp is a 2 lane gets fairly slippery and muddy at low.
There is a sorta rocky/sand landing area to the right looking down, at low, high you have to land on the ramp it self, with bigger rigs.
I launch my 18ft there no trubs, plenty of parking.
if your heading towards the river, especially towards low just stay to the left of the channel as you head to the river, as the mud flats on the right get fairly shallow.
Oh by the way if the tides high and your going under the bridge make sure you have no rods up in your rocket launcher as theyll drag under the bridge, even my radio aerial hits at ttimes.
The tide passing under the bridge roars throught at a 100mph

Also they have changed how you get into the place now you have to drive passed the entrance and do a u'e down further.
The tides friday are great tides for fishing mud if thats where your heading.
The 4.30pm low (great snapper tide, eastern side out from the sand bank that runs down that side.
    regards

Thanks Webby, especially about the bridge
Not planning to go to the top paddock on Good friday, I like the midweek to anzac day tides better, we will be found around Peel and Macleay during easter winds permitting of course
Phil, the only way to know where snapper are in the bay is to get out and sound!!! even then that's no guarantee
We go out a fair bit and have our own spot 'x's with the easter crowds the trick will be to probably get downstream of every else's burley trails

    Have a good one
