Re: Soldier crabs
south coast of.... ?
I'm brisbane based, still heaps of soldiers on the drying banks inside south straddie at jumpinpin. Gotta admit though in the early morning or very late arvo I can't remember crunching through them when walking across to the surf. Maybe they are temperature affected & only out in the middle of the day in summer. They don't migrate, so pump the area you normally collect them if you can't see them & you should get some.

Re: Soldier crabs
There were heaps of soldier crabs at north currigee and at crab island last weekend, this was in the arvo both times around 2pm both friday and saturday. If you are after the small black ones, crab island has heaps.
cheers
