Live Baiting Locations
I know how, tight lipped we all are about our secret fishing spots. But in need of a little guidance here?
I have been live baiting exclusively for the last five years, But three of those years was at Yeppoon where cast netting for live bait in the Harbour and other spots, was a five minute exercise.
Now being back, I fish the broadwater a fair bit and having trouble locating consistent schools of herring or “glassies”. I’m looking around structures but not with much joy.
Where I’m I going wrong or have I just been spoilt?

The Broadwater holds a heap of bait. Your best bet is the beach along the spit or Marine stadium as it is called just past seaworld. Along the back of seaworld is also a good location. Along the canals is the pick of the bunch, especially up the ends of them, often a leading into deep water is the best place.

Try under the sundale bridge near the pilons there as there are usually heaps of herring there from memory
