    New to this Forum

    Hello all\ G' day

I'm from south Florida and plan on being over your way for a reunion of the 173D Airborne Brigade/1 RAR in Sydney 2005, I know it's a long way off but I would like to stay and fish for several weeks also. I'm testing the waters and scouting as the Reunion is in July and if I'm not mistaken to do some serious fishing I'll have to head north. All advise gratefully accepted.
I do mostly spin and fly fishing in the back waters
(ST Lucie River, Indian river areas) and some out front (ocean) when it's under 3 footers (18' Flats boat).
    Thanks.

yes sorry G'day I was fishing maybe for fly fishing you could fish down south for trout. but for real fish head north. maybe one idea could be hire a tinny and fly fish for barra in one of the dams (faust, teemburra) just say what you want to fish for what type of fishing for how long how much you are prepared to travel and spend and I am sure you will find some good spots from this site

Thanks All, I will be heading north as far as I can tell for the real fish as Krazyfisher suggested, the bigger the better!

    Big Fish,
you have to try Big Barra on the fly rod, have a look in the fresh water photo's section for some pic's of Barra particulery "Faust Barra" Faust is the name of a dam up the north a bit about 12hours drive north of Brisbane (capital city of Queensland) some of the most insane fly fishing you will ever-ever do !!
Oh' and by the way "G'day Mate" and welcome to Ausfish.

Thanks and Barra on the Fly is one of my top priorities,
I have a limited amount of space for fishing gear so I was thinking at least 2 and maybe 3 rods (9, 11, 12)??
    for your saltwater critters.

It is a royal pain traveling with those dangerous fly rods, hooks, pliers etc. the reels can be carried on only without line as of now. > and we can not lock our bags!
