I am going to a fishing trip up to maxville for a weekend and i was wondering what kind of gear i would need to have any luck in catching some good flathead?

hey buddy,
I reckon ya should buy a yourself a manns stretch +5 lure. in colours: mother of pearl or grey ghost. usually about $15, a little more expensive than most lures but I find that they've been real sucessful.

try squidgey shad size 1 & 2....the bomb

if the water is a bit dirty or abit of rain has fallen, try speckly pink or speckly grey. they are the colours that i have had most luck on.

when it comes doen to it, anything that moves a flattie will hit it as long as you keep it on the bottom.

if that doesn't work, put out a live mullet
