RIG .. set up for livies

what is the best way or maybe your way of setting up a rig for livies ????
what size hooks....
set up requires one or two hooks placed where ????

is a sinker required and does the sinker sit on top of the hooks

my livies dont stay alive very long

howd the fishing go yesterday snappa, or didnt you get out.. for the livies i like 1 hook of the livebait type crossways through the nose for deepwater drifting, a 3 way swivel with about a 1m leash for the bait a couple meters above the lead.

yes went out sunday the weather was a little sloppy in the morn but ended up perfect
jamie and i fished spot "x" but was surprised by opimax fishing spot x when he told me he was going to troll hutch`s for surface fish
went to the live bait spot but could not manage one slimie or yakka
only red things (fish) and (i think) black spot sweetlip ???? on jigs
off and anchor up at shallow tempest and berley. not much happen in the way of fish but i did managed to berley DOWN 11 black birds that i kept hitting over the head with the rod tip
stated drifting around and jamie caught a 7kg plus sweetlip. then off to deep tempest where i snared 4 snappa 35cm plus nothing big and jamie caught a trag jew
he may put up a post as he had the camera ????
i might say another convert to the cat lovers

Lotsa different rigs going around Pete.

A single hook thru the snout and a ' stinger ' hook ( sometimes a treble ), tucked under the baits bum. Depends on species sort, either mono between hooks or single strand wire.

For Spotties at Palm Beach we always 1 hook ( 7/ 0 or bigger ) placed under the Dorsal fin of the livie and then some styrene as a float, with 10ft of line under, no lead.

On the drift, again, 1 hook thru the snout. No lead, no float.

Robs rig also works good, meter of " leader " and a meter or two above the Snapper Lead.

ON the troll with a downrigger, thru the snout, single hook or stinger if the Toothy Critters are about. As ya know most Non-toothy types smash the head first, so the single hook rig in most cases if preferable.
