    Pin live bait - herring?

Thinking of heading down the pin on the weekend and I'm just wondering about getting live herring.

We've always managed to get plenty of herring at the pin on close to full tide (around Short Is. and McKenzies Channel) but can you get them when the tide is lower and in what areas can they be found? I've never had much luck locating them when the tide is a bit lower or on the way out.

    Cheers
    Dallas

What are you planning on fishing for? I reckon it might be pretty fresh down there at the moment with all the rain - 200mm of rain in one night (Sun?) at Coomera. Another place you can look for schools of herring is around the moorings eg Jacobs Well etc

Jeremy - We were just thinking of trying to get a few flathead and maybe drift around holes out the front of Swan bay for a jew or whatever else is lurking out there.
