    Attracting Baitfish

Fished sat night at Caloundra end of Passage, and with the boat light on, started to attract hundreds of small baitfish (not sure what they were, little anchovy type things). When I flashed the torch into the water, they came up to the surface attracted to the light. 20 minutes later, the trevors came in to sort them out, so in turn, I got onto them.
I've been thinking since then, would/do glow sticks (those fluroescent tubes you crack and they glow in yellow, green pink etc) be of any value as an extra source of light to attrack baitfish at night? Has anyone used them before with success?

    Cheers

What size and species of trevally were they? About how far from the bar were you fishing?

I was up at Caloundra on Sunday. The water had a fair brown colour to it, but it was clear enough to see to the bottom in a couple of meters.

we used to use the glow sitcks on our line when chaseing the hairtail it accted as both a indercator and a attractor
i also belive that they use glow stick in the crab/fish traps over seas when in the deep water
i also now use those lumo beads on my bottom bounceing gear (not sure if it works but hey!)
