Re: Shark Fishing
G'day guys,
I'm new to this board but a very keen landbased shark fisherman. The Moreton Bay Shark fishing classic is certainly well worth entering. We're hoping very much to be a part of the comp this year. You're right Jeffo, it is a fully sanctioned event which means that people will be able to claim a record. Last year's event was well organised and attended, although a few more land based teams will be good this year. At this stage I know of 8 interested parties.
All the best,
James

I am landbased aswell. But dont really have enought experience under the belt to consider seriously fishing it. But still wouldnt mind having a go.
And yes it is a fully sanctioned event.

it is being run by the moreton bay game fishing club.
there is a free seminar on tuesday the 9th of march at moreton bay trailer boat club. all are invited and they will give info on how to catch those toothy critters in the bay. might be interesting

Re: Shark Fishing
G'day guys,
Just a note on being a member of a club to fish the comp. You don't actually have to be a member of any club. What you can do is pay a $25 QGFA affiliation fee which covers you for the weekend, and allowing you to claim a record should it come your way.
cheers, James

Re: Shark Fishing
Thats alright ...i am a GFAA member and joining up with the Surfers game club right now anyway !
So whats the run down ? i know how to fish for sharks in the bay ..but maye not be able to make the info night..
How is the comp working ?? who's fishing LBG and who is on the water ? what are the costs for someone already in a club ?
Does any one want another angler on a boat ......have own gear ???
Questions questions too many questions.....
