    Jumpinpin ideas

    Hi everyone,

I'm planning on going fishing down around cabbage tree / jumpinpin area on saturday night. Being a fairly new fisherman with little idea what I'm doing, I'm planning on finding a bit of a hole somewhere on the sounder, sitting over it and feeding mullet strips to whatever is down there for 2-3 hrs up to the high tide.

Does anyone have any better ideas on what bait to use / where to go (out near the pin bar or back between some of the islands)? Would really like to catch something other than undersize bream and knot eels >

Take lots of really good insect repellant if you are going to be down there after dark, and better still wear long pants and shirt as well.

It is still pretty fresh down there, so on the up side, there are prawns around and plenty of poddy mullet and it is pretty easy to cast net a few for bait.

There are also plenty of small bream around, don't know about pike eels. You might bet lucky and pin a jew.....

Be carefull of the weather if your going near the pin bar mate ....these SE winds are going to be picking up tomorrow and saturday night .

I reckon best bets would be to drift through the channels around the islands with live mullet till you find the fish !
