I am happy to announce that a trial Bream tournament will be held in Darwin.
With the very important assitance of NAFA,
The NAFA Northern Territory Bream Trial Event will be held on the 3rd and 4th of July 2004. Based in the fish rich waters of Darwin Harbour, we will be tempting the Barra fishing fraternity with the challenges of catching bream.
The event is based on the ABT series currently being held on the east and west coasts of Australia, with some variations to allow for maximum participation and enjoyment.
For more information either reply to this post or contact me on 0410 662 927.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the sponsors already committed to helping the event. NAFA (major sponsor), Reidy's Lures, Darwin Battery World, Pacific Composites (Angler Rods) and GURU's Harbour Sportsfishing.
I look forward to hearing from everybody and to having the territory part of the national series in 2005.
I like the whole Bream tournament concept and expect this to be a good test of skill for you Territorians.
Can't help but think of all the other wonderful species an angler could target in the Northern Territory apart from Bream, It's a bit like going to Swaines Reef to fish for Hussar
Welcome to the site and wish you all the best for your Tournament.
I know there are many species that can be targeted in the Territory and I am sure the bycatch for this event will be amazing (barramundi, salmon, golden snapper, any of the trevally species just to name a few). The idea of the event is to have fun and to get people with the same passion exchanging ideas. The concept of the event is good, and being catch and release, fishing is the winner all round.
I'm sure all who participate will view bream and bream fishing in Darwin, in a differant light.
