macktuna or bonito flesh would be the best by far followed up closely by big live yabbies and then third good quality iqf frozen white bait.

    Hey Ricky,

Having fished the recent ABT Hawkesbury tourney I can confirm that hard bodied lures proved outstanding and were the lure of choice for the eventual winner, Mick Collins.

He used Rebel Crawdad's and Predatek Min Mins, largely due to the inbuilt rattle. These were fished hard in amongst the oyster racks. Other competitors fished plastics around the leases to good effect as well.

That said, other parts of the river...rocky banks and mangrove flats etc would be best targetted with SP's in my thoughts....the Berkley 3" Bass Minnow in Pearl watermelon is a personal favourite of mine.

    Cheers,
    Byron

    G'day Byron,
Was that the tournament on the weekend of the 13th March? I agree that hard bodied lures are the best for in around oyster racks.

The number one bait for big bream up Bar Point & Spencer way is the small black crabs from the rocky shoreline.
