Re: reef fishing Sunshine coast
the inshore reefs hold some bloody good fish during winter at night and even during the day, some friends of mine who went fishing with me were just coming back in one morning after a night at Murphies... they were getting spooled and busted off on 100lb braid.. dont know what the hell they were using to get busted off.. but they showed me the stuff.. came home with 10 Snapper at the time to 9kg.. and a few other assorted critters.. mostly cod

yeah im with tim... the banks can be a long way to go in winter! you can be going over the top of some top fishing ground! while the banks can go off it can also be dead as a door nail.. and what a long way to go for nothing! the snapper will come right in close (just behind the surf).
what sort of boat are you fishing from?
