I've fished there two times and its been allright. Livies are quite hard to get there unless you have a cast net. There are greenback herring in good numbers and hardyheads however I have found these to yield only average results. Lure casting (small-medium metals) on the other hand has produced the goods, namely g.ts and watsons leaping bonito. When I was there two years ago some big spaniards moved into the shallows on high tide so I guess they are a possibility. Some other anglers have had more success with the mackerel (broad bars) by jigging around the pylons at first light and sending out live slimy mackerel. The best way was simply to let the bait drift (no float or sinker). I have also heard that fly fishing and using prawn style lures at night can be successful with queenies, g.ts and even barra.

My brother worked at the resort for 7 months in 2002. Morning and evenings were the most productive times - but they caught just about everything!

Mackeral, Tuna, Kingfish, Queenfish, Trevally, Cobia, tailor, squire, bream, sweetlip, catfish, cod, grinners and heaps of sharks. He's pretty lazy so he used unweighted whole pillies on ganged hooks.

Live baiting yakkas or slimeys under a balloon with the afternoon SE sea breeze could really be the way to go here.

Let us know how you go.
