    Welcome to Qld Matt.

I've done most of my land-based tailor fishing from N. Straddie and around Kingscliffe NSW but I've had two good incidental catches when fishing the Sunshine coast. The first was at Point Cartwight nr Mooloolaba and the other was from the Rocks nr Hell's Gate, Alexandria Beach Noosa. The last is a fair slog back though, particularly if the fish in the eskie weigh more than the stubbies you've emptied whilst there ;-)

For me it's Fraser Island mid August somewhere between Indian Head and Ngkala Rocks or Brown's Rocks. A cuppla mates and a cuppla beers and a cuppla days (or maybe a week) what more could you ask for.

Matt, if you get a chance to go to Fraser, then take it.

    Matt,

If you have a 4wd you can't go past the area north of the second track at Teewah beach up to the coloured sands. You can get there by normal car and walk down to the beach but much better if you have a 4wd and can search out for the better gutters. Even though most of my fishing is offshore these days, I still make it a point to catch a feed of tailor once a year at Teewah.

Seahunt, loose the wire, you will be guaranteed more success.

Matthew, which part of the sunny coast? The beaches can be a little patchey. Check the gutters out thru the day is a good start. Its a little warm for them yet, wait till the end of May before putting the serious face..
