Planning a trip. When as well as why.

Just curious what others do and take into account when planning a trip out.

As an example, this Saturday sees sunset around 5.00pm, tide change aroung 6.00pm, and then a solunar peak at around 7.45pm as well as being in the middle of a rated "good" period.

From what I have picked up, that should mean that if I what my best chance of catching a fish I should be at spotx at about 4.00pm till about 9.00pm as every positive fishing trigger flows directly into each other.

Apart from the answer of "just get out there when I can" which I do as well anyway, do people take much of this seriously and with previous success to make it a serious consideration.

All depends on which fish you are talking about. In my opinion, for snapper light change, tide change then solunar peak. For flathead tide times, then light change. For gamefishes I think it is tide changes then solunar peak.

If the water's wet, then I just get out there :-)

If I can catch something decent when the tide/moon/weather is all against me, then that's a bonus and I can say, "yah, boo, sucks.....up yours"!

    cheers
