Squid in the brisbane river?

Has anyone had any luck/tried to get squid in the brisbane river? It's probably not the cleanest place and the current is a bit fast at times, but is there any chance?

I gave it a go last night with no luck, but then again I've never fished for squid before either so if there were there I probably wouldn't have caught them anyway.

Hi Joe,

We were fishing right on the Brisbane River mouth (right outside the cranes on the docks) and we caught a squid without even trying (on a bream rig actually) so at least they are out there. but being that far up the mouth of the river, we may as well have been in Moreton Bay anyway.

I have never caught a squid any further upstream before but I guess there is always a first time.
