    But having said that,, I still think that the bank in whaleys is a good choice because it has the added advantage of being sheltered from the wind.

    As with Chris_aka_GWH I always pump my yabbies at on the big bank at the eastern mouth of Cobby Cobby - can generally get yabbies at nearly all stages of the tide except right at the top.

    All of my biggest flathead, incl greater than 70cm, and only times I've reached a bag limit have come off the Canaipa Passage side of that sand bank as well.

    If you're into drowning baits it never hurts to throw a couple out off the bank whilst pumping the yabbies - just keep an eye out for the odd shovel nose and ray that can strip of a fair bit of line in a short time if your not watching.

    Chris, thanks, food for thought. Thats the one we looked at i think, just passed the rock wall where the bank stretches almost across the entire passage, and the channel is on the left.
