hi fellas i have a lowrance x85 sounder on my new boat nothing spectacular but just curious who has one and can you explain some features as i havnt got a hand book i use to have a hummingbird wide portrait.Or has anyone heard any reports are they any good???
I have a Global map 2000. I believe the sounder unit in these is the equivalent to an X85?
I think they are a tremendous unit. What problems are you having?
regards, Mark.
Err I'll have to check to confirm what you are talking about but I believe it relates to what transducer you are using so you must pick the right one. From memory the standard transducer is 50 KHz. Remind me to get back to you on that one.
Cheers, Mark.
standard transducer for the X-85 was 192 Khz with I think 20 degree cone in the skimer type can also be fitted with a narrower cone transducer in the 192 Khz or,for what I thought was too much at the time(can't remember the amount),it can run a 50 Khz transducer via a junction box(HPD?).
Ours is run off the Global map 2000, through a junction box (SAM1). Still not sure if 50 KHz is correct, took a guess there but I'll let you know.
Cheers, Mark.

That is a lucky break getting the link to the manual . Read it or print it and then if you have any questions I may be able to help. I have an X85 with dual transducers and have used it a fair bit the past couple of years.
Chris
