I did a Google search and found this:

Hope it helps. By the way, when you hear Texas rig or Carolina rig (for plastic worms), don't worry. I'll tell you how to do it.

Texas: Take a bullet weight and slide it onto your line. Tie a hook to your line. Take the plastic worm and thread it onto your hook about a half an inch. Slide the worm to the eye of the hook and turn the hook around so it points back at the worm. Now, just put the point of the hook into the worm, burrying it in the plastic. It's now weedless. Adjust so the lure hangs straight (may have to slide the worm up a little bit over the eye of the hook, up the line). That's it. Simple.

Carolina: Same as the Texas rig but you use a swivel and leader to separate the weight and the worm. It goes rod tip, line, sliding weight, small bead, swivel, leader line, worm.

Another technique is the drop shot method. You tie a ball weight to the end of your line and tie a lure a short distance up from it using a palomar knot (sorry, have to look that up yourself, can't describe it.)

Most other soft plastics are just hooked onto a lead jig head. Nothing fancy.

I hope I haven't confused you with my descriptions. If nothing else, I've given you a head start and a list of terms to look up. Don't be worried over using soft plastics. It's really easy.

Good luck! I hope you catch some.

Hi it is a bit tricky if you go to your local tackle shop ask for the Steve & Bushy vidio on Squidgeeses they explane the differnt types of rigs but as far as I have lerant you just tie them on to your line use what ever plastic you won't and cast.
the hook & sinker are one Jig and you put your squidgee on like you do a prawn
( right way up miss Jane ) . Good Luck I am still learning also .
