Morton Bay Reef near Western Banks.
Hi Guys,
We have found a reef just near the 'Western Banks'.
I am only new to fishing in the bay so I just wanted to know if this reef has a name....
There is a truck load of fish hanging around, none of which we have seen closely due to our lack of boating time available.
We found it by accident, it is near where it drops off from 5ft to near 70ft.
We have just brought a GPS so in the next couple of week we should have a direct mark.
Cheers

Re: Morton Bay Reef near Western Banks.
hey lee
yea you will find patches here and there and when you find a goodie keep it to yourself.a small isolated patch that is not regularly fished will often outfish a popular big patch that gets a hammering.of course if you need somebody to check it out for ya you can pm those marks to me when you get em 8).
you will also find bait hanging on sand ledges quite often, there may not be any hard bottom structure there but the bait may use the eddies caused buy the ledge to get out of the current.having said that you dont always need reef to catch something,if a spot holds good bait you can bet mr tuna and mackerel know about it for starters.
hope that made sense
cheers scott
