    hi snagged,
i am only getting into this plastic thing as well, luckily for me a mate of mine only uses plastics and has been doing so for years, so my learning curve has been very steep
there are a few flatties about at the moment. have found them on the weedbeds between sandbanks. look for a bit of broken country with weed, rock and sand. they are holding in fairly tight groups at the moment. fished about 4 different banks last thursday until we found one where there were a few fish. have a look around the little mangrove island out the front of toorbul. the eastern side of it has been holding a few fish.
they weren't interested in the red (squidgie)or green (holey mackeral) plastic, they were climbing all over the top one, dunno what brand it is think it might be a squidgie, has been laying in my tackle box for ages,
i will be at mission point this weekend, call in for a beer and a yarn if you are about.
    cheers
    dazza

Glassy Creek holds good flatties around the mouth near the banks and up the creek itself. We have got them on Bass Minnows and Gulps, and also on 24 Carat squidgie fish
Fish them with a decent size jighead to keep them on the bottom and use jerky retrieves with lots of pauses on them
