Toogoom
We are going to Toogoom, Hervey Bay for a few days. Can anyone suggest any likely spots? I suppose flatties would be the main target at this time, with whiting being inbetween winter and summer varieties. What about the Burrum river, how does it go for muddies and bream? any clues? thanks, Mike.

Re: Toogoom
Toogoom eh,
I am assuming you have a boat. That creek where the boat ramp is , if you head back up that towards the Pialba - Burrum Heads road bridge there are some good spots for Jack and Bream, Might not be warm enough for Mangrove Jack yet but worth a try. In the Burrum river most people seem to fish the black bank across the river from Burrum Heads. There are also some small mangrove creeks there where you can put a pot or two in.

Re: Toogoom
I'm going up at the end of September. I've got a sister up there. So far we've caught fish in Beelbi Ck itself but the Burrum looks good. Watch the rocks in the Burrum!!! Good fishing country but hard on a prop.
Fished a few times offshore from Toogoom and caught some huge Golden Trevally. Beelbi Ck is very shallow so I leave my Fisher at home and take the punt but if the weather is OK we go offshore with the brother-in-law's boat. Also Lenthall Dam is good too, It's about 30min drive and they say it's been stocked with barra now.
