JUST WONDERING IF MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE HAVE HAD ANY NEAR DRAMAS WITH CROCKIDILES UP HERE IN QUEENSLAND ....ARENT YOU SO GLAD THEY ARE A PROTECTED SPIECES ESPIALLY WHEN WADDING KNEE DEEP OUT IN THE MURKY WATERS... ..PROSERPINE RIVER HAS NOW ABOUT 130 CROCKS SO LOOKOUT IF YOU ARE OUT CATCHING PRAWNS OR SIMPALY BEACH FISHING WITH YOUR KIDS
I reckon the numbers are on the rise and their getting more game. I've had a few incounters now, where I thought they were stalking the boat (or whats in it) If you tell the DPI or Np's they just say, there is nothing they can do and just keep of the croc's way. But it a worrying when a 5 meter fat dog pop's up beside the boat.
Heard on the grapevine an Eco Tour operator is feeding the crocs up Prossy way for the tourists..Wouldn't like to be the next poor fisherman to pull up in a 12ft tinny at the spot he's doing it The crocs would be lining up around you for a free feed.. Condition an animal enough and problems will arise.. Look at the dingo population on Fraser??
When holidaying up around Prossy I saw a guy on a mud flat with a croc hooked onto his lure! The croc was doing the ol death roll - guy must have wanted his lure back pretty bad! It's bad enough just launching the boat on the ramp having branches brush past your legs - you just never know!
