Re: Balloons in the bay!!!!
Come on lets stick to the subject of catching fish through the use of balloons! Each to their own and its a fishing site not a greeny site!
Some good info coming out of this for me........Im yet to have a successful trip out in the bay using ballons, not that ive used them out there too many times! I will have a party on the water with all the balloons that ill have out for MR or MRS pelagic!
Cheers, keep the info comn!

[quote author=Cheech . Seemed like a good idea until my 6 year old son said something along the lines of,,, are you sure you should be doing that? That was enough to cure me of using foam.
But each to their own.

Yeah Cheech
The thing is - we are, as time goes by, going to be under much more scrutiny both at a local level from our children and more broadly from environmentally conscious groups (just have a look at the increasing political acceptability of the Greens party) . Fisherpeople are likely to be increasingly targeted by well-meaning people who don't have an understanding of the environmental responsibility of most people who are engaged in our sport . BUT - stories of less responsible activities like polluting beaches with polystyrine (sp?), people inadvertently catching turtles pelicans and dolphins, contravening legal size and bag limits, and other environmentally unfriendly activities can only add ammunition to those who would see ocean-based sport fishing totally banned. The stuff that is happening out from Byron Bay is enough to frighten the pants off any self-respecting bait-drowner. The proposals there esentially curtail any reasonable expectation of catching a feed.
I just reckon that we owe it to future generations of fishers to be really careful of the way we operate out there. It is a fragile planet and there are many self-appointed experts with enough political clout to make life difficult for the continuation of sport fishery.
FWIW (and after much more than enough liquid encouragement)
