Re: jacobs well
Buy your bait at the Gem (prefferably not yabbies ) and they should be able to help you - the guys here would know hundreds of spots - just use your common sense of where fish lay. Yabbie Banks - I think It's called fiveways - there is a huge bank there, but many others throughout the pin.

Re: jacobs well
Breamking,
Heaps of yabby banks betwen Jacobs Well and the Pin bar - try south of Whalley's Gutter, Gold and Green Bank, and north west of the top of the Fiveways.
As for fishing, Kalinga Bank and North Eastern tip of Crusoe are great spots. The main channel at Jacobs (south east of boat ramp) is also a good spot.
Good Luck

Re: jacobs well
yabbies - 50m back inside the last green beacon of the jacobs well channel is firing currently
fish - in the jacobs channel between the red halfway up & the next green back to the ramp there is a drain thru the bank that leads to a deeper channel inside the sand bank against the northern mangroves - fish there on the last of the flood & the first of the ebb at night for all species including scool jew if you rig a large worm or a small live poddy - its a good change of season location - if you have a good look at it in Brownies & then apply the theory around the pin (the same setup occurs in several locations) you'll do better than most
That's a spot close to jacobs & often overlooked - easy to get to in the smallest of boat. Speak to Pete at Jacobs Well bait & Tackle, he's always got his ear to the sand - make sure you buy something from him in return & keep a bloody good old fashioned business afloat.

Oh yeah & at Pete's tackle shop check out the photo of the 7kg+ tailor caught this year - wattacracka.
