    gda'y fraser inshore knowledge wanted

    gday all

My brother and i are heading up to fraser and thinking of doing some fishin (somewhere near woody) in a week and a bit with a 18 foot dehavlind tinney (his), and my 4.55 m quintrex topender. We are pretty safe gooing about 25 kays (one way) max on a good day. And we were wondering if any body could give us some directions on where to fish for a few days on reefees, and a few days on some pelagics.

i don't like eating fish but if any body wants one they can let me know.

i would love to catch a spanish. (i know it might be a bit early yet.)

this is my first trip to fraser or inshore close to there.
thanks in advance for any info.

you can p.m. me or send an e-mail to lucas-deanna@optusnet.com.au or give me a ring on 0408874044 and ask for Lucas

    cheers anyfish

anyfish, there was loads of pelagics tuna/school mac through playpus bay this week, and we had a few spaniards into the lures, the spaniards were up around sandycape though.

    Any Fish

You could give the artificial reef a go between Woody and Fraser or head south a bit past Kingfisher to Ungowa for a shot at some good sweetlip
The EU2 beacon just north of round island could be worth a drop too, may even snag a dolphin fish

Platypus bay would be the go for pelagics

Give us a bell when you get here and I may tag along for the ride
    Cheers

we will get up there on saturday morning.

if you want to go out fishing with us in your boat let me know. my brother has got an old dehavlind tinney about a 19 footer.. i will be up there till tuesday.

at this stage we will be mainly chasing a few pelagics around but if we can find a few reefies i wouldn't mind only keeping 1 or 2 between me and my brother.

it anybody is interested in going out let me know by thursday.

    cheers anyfish

Remember to be wary of any Spanish Mackeral, Yellowtail Kingfish, Queenfish and Barracuda caught in PlatyPus Bay - they can carry ciguatoxin.

Still great fun to catch though!
