G'day, i was just wondering if any of u guys new what the hell is at the bottem under the bridge, between the pilones are because me and my dad put our ancour down and couldnt get it up? And o by the way y is there such a big hole there? On the sound its about 12FT in the river then when you get under the bridge it gets to around 25FT! Anyone have any information whats at the bottem? and how it was made?

When they were constructing, a couple of concrete pylons were dropped into the water and never recovered, theres also a few old tree's and such that have drifted down river with the big tides that we have had over the years.. theres also a couple of old cars.. they'd merely be shells now.. with oysters being the only thing holding them together..
and you would be correct about the depth.. the 2 marked channels do go from 12ft to 28ft (marking being, look up at the bridge, theres a blue triangle ... one for each side, with it being on a different side of the pylons)
but if you go sound up around the Maroochy Cruise boat.. theres a deeper hole there that drops down to 32ft.. holds some good trevally at night too!

Yes i have scuba i always love to dive my fav fishing spots.To get a better understanding of the structure down there,everytime iam blown away of the fishable species down there oneday i want to dive cod hole,i think it will help me fish it better just have to find a dive buddy whos mad enough to dive with me,when i do i will let u fellas know

I was just thinking that myself (Diving my fishing spots). I reckon the bridge at Maroochy would be very interesting. I've dived the Passage, Kings Beach and Currimundi Reef before with some fascinating results. I also picked up over 5kg of sinkers from the passage.
Might have to get the shark suit out to protect myself from the fishermen above me, if I dive the Maroochy bridge.

ill agree with Dug, i was fishing there yesterday and i could see the bottom in 30ft of water.. a deffinant first for me in a few years.. even in fading light i could see the bottom...
