The baitrunner is the one to go on. Tony is his name. Wont stop until he puts you on the fish and puts on a good feed aswell. The boat holds 10 and if you have not got the numbers hell get them to make a trip.
G'day all
A group of us who normally fish wide of Moreton are keen to do a charter out of Rainbow/DI. I would be interested in the thoughts of members here who have had a good experience. We would prefer a smaller group/vessel and are keen on some big reds. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Regards
Rob

I reckon some of the members here would be much more likely to put you onto some big reds than any charter operator. Have a search through the reports and ask real nicely and you never know!

RobK,
The trip for you is with "Eds Charters" on board the "Keely Rose". Caters for groups of 4 @ $150 per person for the day. Its run by Ed Falconer, is a local ex pro who has an extensive knowlede of the area and operates out of Rainbow Beach.
You'll find his write-ups and details in the Queensland Fishing Monthly.
Cheers
Craigie.

As mentioned above Tony from Baitrunner charters would be a good choice but there would be a few aboard and Tony usaully doesnt head all that wide.
As Craigie suggested Ed Falconer on keely rose would be the pick with only 4 people at a time and he also knows the area well with some great catches of reds at times.
There is one charter that stands out from the rest and thats Ivan Jensen on Kiama which is a 37 foot stebercraft. Ivan fishes some great areas and travels to the shelf if that is what it takes to find the fish. The crew did extremly well in the Rainbow beach fishing comp and took out around 5 places for different species with a 1st and 2nd on Red emperor. I dont have his number but a little hunting around and im sure you would find it.

Reefmaster.
I went on the Baitrunner one time and Ivan was the deckie for the day, just before christmas last year. Back then he only had a 18 ft boat. Do you know how long ago he bought that new one? He is a top bloke and knows his stuff. I'd be keen to go on a charter with him.

The boat is Brand New this year with some doctor buying the rig and Ivan being the skipper. Im sure a little hunting around would find his number. If you have no luck let me know and i will get it.

Thanks to all for their help. I have also tried to find Ivan Jensen's number with no succes. Keely Rose charters sounds the go purely as it caters for a smaller group.
