Re: bribie island shore advice please???
This time of year the ocean side - Woorim area -should be worth fishing for whiting - must have live worms and as light a sinker as you can manage.

Re: bribie island shore advice please???
Hey, you should definatly try and get your own baits around bribie. Last time i went there i had a chat to the owner of the bait and tackle and he was a total jerk to me. I dunno if it had something to do with my bright blue and yellow hawaiian shirt but he basicly said, 'you need a boat to get fish around here.' and wouldn't offer up much else. When we asked if there were yabbie banks anywhere we got a flat "No." So anyway we went off, walked around a bit, saw this old lady who told us where there was a yabbie bank and there we went and got us a few yabs and a couple of whiting from the beach. So in my view, the guy who owns the place wasn't getting my $10 worth of bait ever again!!!

Re: bribie island shore advice please???
hi, Just got back from bribie and the beaches were fishing well. Lots of whiting around woorim and bongaree. Best bait I found was yabbies, pipis and mud-blood worm. Not too sure if they were blood worms or mud worms. Yabbies can be pumped from any sandflat on low tide, just make sure you get there as the tide is going out, found this better time to get the little buggers. Pipis are everywhere along the beaches, but seem to be on the small side, perservence and a sore back will get you what you need. Talk to the locals, they know what there talking about, especially the ones on the beach with a rod in there hands. Dazza and nofrills are on this site and they live at bribie, so they could help you out, they did with me . First mackeral caught in my life and loved it. Hope this helps and good luck.
